SEO Secrets – Ways to Get Inbound Links

It is now accepted wisdom that SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is all about off-page optimization to give it its full and glorious word. Around 80 percent, actually. What does it all mean?Do you want to learn more? Visit

Well, essentially, it means that your website is actually measured by Google, less by what’s actually on the internet, but more on what sites connect to you. It is all these inbound connexions that are so important. Of course , it is important to have unique keyword-focused content on your blog, but tweaks on YOUR site won’t make much difference. So, an important part of the equation is inbound links. Got it? Nice. But one word of warning, in truth, well, two.

There are ways, literally overnight, to get tens of thousands of inbound connexions. Google would probably discount these, or even worse, if it feels you are trying to ‘spam’ the index, penalise your website. It’s best to play it safe and do something nice and legal.

My other advice is to make sure you vary your inbound links’ wording. You don’t want every single one of them called ‘Goal KEYWORD’ and nothing else. It is not natural and it will be seen as such by Google. So, with those two pearls of wisdom firmly planted away, with your separate keyword targeted hyperlinks, here are my top SEO secrets for acquiring inbound links:

  1. Write articles and submit to the likes of EzineArticles. You will get your article distributed to most of the main article directories by these people here. You can have 2 or 3 links with keywords in the resource box. Other sites will continue to publish these articles and you will have links from all over the internet, from, most notably, theme-related web sites, before you know it.
  2. Often a blog and blog. Insert hyper-linked keywords on your target page in your blog articles. Then publish an RSS feed and ensure that you publish it in as many locations as you can find. A good place to start is Feedagg. Again, the same idea is that other blogs can pick up and publish your RSS feed.
  3. Directory Submissions-I wouldn’t spend much time on this, to be honest, but it’s still a pretty easy way to get a few links out there. I don’t think Google places tremendous emphasis on directory links, and unless I was in a really tight niche, I definitely wouldn’t pay for a listing, and I knew that the directory might provide traffic, not just the connexion. I myself use a directory submission service and I can vouch for them, they are quite accurate. They have a few other worthwhile deals as well.
  4. Social Bookmarking-Yes, I know it’s a lot of work, but social bookmarking sites are loved by Google. If they like Google, so do we, too. Start off from there at the socialmarker and then Digg. Then I recommend you use some sort of automated bookmarking solution if you want to get serious, these are the people I use and they are the best in the business.
  5. Forum Posting-Do n’t underestimate this one’s power. Especially if you post in specific and on topic forums, you can get a great return on investment. If you spice up an attractive deal with your forum signature, then you will not only gain inbound connexions, you will also score quite a few interested visitors.
  6. Fruity Plugins – This is only one of those ‘must-haves’ on your WordPress blog that you can have. How the system works is that inbound links and unique content are created for you automatically by your guests. Unbelievable, but true. The more tourists you get, the more you receive inbound links and information. Then these ties and content go on to get more tourists who will then … I hope you get the idea …
  7. Videos-Make a video and upload it to as many video directories as possible. In the description and the video itself, ideally throughout, don’t forget to include a hyperlink to your site. Google enjoys videos. The only downside is that it can take forever to upload videos. These individuals are overcoming this.
